Dr. Conrad Murray Stands Alone At Trial For Michael Jackson's Death

Dr. Conrad Murray is on trial for his professional life and his freedom charged with the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson. In a serious blow to Murrays defense Michael Jacksons former doctors have been banned from testifying at the trial.

The defence team for Murray were dealt a huge blow by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor, when he banned six medical professionals who had treated the star from appearing at the trial.

The defence lawyers are thought to have been hoping to use the testimony of the medical professionals to show that Michael was addicted to strong painkilling drugs before he started receiving treatment from Dr. Murray.

In court papers filed at a pre-trial hearing yesterday, defence attorneys Edward Chernoff and Nareg Gourjian alleged a previous Doctor of Michaels had administered frequent intramuscular injections of Demerol to Mr. Jackson for no valid medical purpose, and that the star had became physiologically and psychologically dependent on Demerol.

The prosecution argued this defence was trying to divert attention from Dr. Murray and allege that previous doctors were a factor in Michaels death. Judge Pastor said he didnt feel the defences claims were relevant and would be distracting and misleading for the jury.

Dr Murrays defence team will try their best to show that Michael Jackson was a drug addict relying upon doctors for his dope. How this exonerates Dr. Murray is not clear since he was the biggest dope dealing doctor of them all and was the one who gave Michael the lethal dose.
